No. This calculator produces an accurate, by-the-rules estimate using the same measurements and formulas the official scorer uses. To enter a buck into the Boone and Crockett record book you must let the antlers dry 60 days and then have them measured by a certified B&C official measurer.

How is Boone and Crockett score calculated?

Net typical B&C score = inside spread credit + length of each main beam + length of every typical tine (G1–G7) + four circumference measurements per side, minus deductions. Deductions are the differences between matched left/right measurements, the difference between actual and credited spread, and the length of any abnormal points.

Does B&C accept any legal weapon?

Yes. Boone and Crockett is open to whitetails taken by rifle, muzzleloader, shotgun, archery, or crossbow, provided the hunt complied with fair-chase rules and applicable state regulations.

What is fair chase?

Accepted Answer

Fair chase is the B&C rule that the deer was taken under conditions that did not give the hunter an improper advantage — no high-fence enclosures under a defined acreage, no taking from a vehicle, no use of electronic equipment to communicate the deer's location. Entries that fail fair chase are not eligible for the record book.
